Tell us the chair and the day

We read these between heads and ring you back the same day, usually within two hours. If it is for tomorrow morning, ring instead — 01978 265 410.

Walking in

The bench by the window is first come and there is no list to put your name on. The board behind the till has the next free chair chalked on it and whoever is on the till will give you an honest number of minutes, not an optimistic one.

Walk-ins stop half an hour before the shutter — 17.30 on a weekday, 15.30 on a Saturday. That is not us being awkward: a cut and finish takes thirty minutes and we are not going to rush yours.

Busiest hour of the week is Saturday at eleven. Quietest is Tuesday at two.

Booking

Slots open three weeks ahead. Emeka goes within a day of opening, so set a reminder if you want chair two.

Give us two hours' notice if you cannot come. Miss it twice without ringing and the next one is paid for up front — four people a week ask for that slot.

We do not take a deposit for anything under £30. A shave and crop is held with £10 on the card, taken off the bill.

Getting here

01

Bodhyfryd car park

Two hours free, then £1.40. Four minutes on foot down Chester Street. Do not park on the double yellows outside — they are enforced from eight.

02

General Station

Eleven minutes' walk. Out of the front, left along Regent Street, right at the lights, and we are the third door after the chemist.

03

Buses 1, 2 and 34

All stop on King Street, two minutes away. The 34 from Rhos runs every twenty minutes until six.

04

The door itself

One step up and no ramp — we are sorry, it is a listed frontage. Ring ahead and we will cut in the front chair with the door propped.

Or just turn up

41 Chester Street, Wrexham LL13 8BG. Tuesday to Saturday, and somebody will tell you how long.
