Station 01 — the board
Everything we do is on this page with the minutes it takes. There is no tier, no package and nobody will ask you about a treatment at the till.
Dai Pritchard, chair one, 11.40 on a Wednesday
Prices held since March 2025. Add £3 for a wash and finish on any cut.
Station 02 — what £19 buys
A fade is not a clipper setting, it is four or five of them run into each other until the step disappears. The bottom third is where it is won or lost, and that is where the time goes — the top is twelve minutes of scissor work and nobody will ever notice it.
If you are growing one out, come back at three weeks and we will tidy the neck for £7 rather than cut the whole head again.
Razor work is chair four. Book it — we will not start a shave twenty minutes before the shutter.
No colour · no perms · no hair systems · no home visits · no shave on broken skin
Station 03 — before you sit down
If it is not here, ring the shop between eight and six and somebody will put the clippers down.
Always. The bench by the window is first come, and the board behind the till has the next free chair chalked on it. Walk-ins stop half an hour before closing because a cut takes longer than a chalk mark suggests.
Yes, and you should. Emeka books about ten days out, Marta about four, Dai and Reuben usually have something this week. Booking a name costs the same as taking whoever is free.
Sharp for about ten days, fine for three weeks, gone by five. Most people on a fade come every three weeks. A neck tidy in between is £7 and takes eight minutes.
Not if your skin is in one piece. We change the blade in front of you, we go with the grain first and across it second, and we will not shave over a spot, a cold sore or sunburn. If you are on roaccutane we will do the beard shape instead and tell you why.
Under twelves are £10 on weekdays before three. We do not do first haircuts with a certificate and a lock of hair in an envelope — plenty of places near the Butchers Market do, and better.
Colour of any kind, perms, hair systems, home visits, and a number one all over on somebody who walked in at two minutes to six. We will also say no to a design we know will look wrong on your hair, and we will say so before you sit down, not after.
